SIMPLE ECONOMICS
Since
our software is a fully hosted solution, you are getting hosting and
use of a top notch Content Management System (CMS) software for one low
cost. With our simple proprietary CMS software, you get hosting and the
use of our CMS for just $25 per month for up to 20,000 page loads (not
including your own admin page loads). If a site is wildly successful
and needs more page loads, we charge only an additional $20 per 10,000
page loads per site on a month by month basis. With us, there is never
a hosting contract, and there are no expensive overage charges. You
only pay for what your sites use.
If you require a module which
needs to be routed to an external server, such as a custom Flash video
player, or a module which accommodates large file uploads (over 20 mb),
additional server charges will apply.
USING A CMS ON CLUSTERED SERVERS VS. DEDICATED OR SHARED SERVERS
By
nature, a CMS is database intensive and demands wide ranges of CPU and
memory resources. We've tested our CMS on many different server
environments, including dedicated, virtual private, shared and
clustered servers. We found that using a CMS on shared hosting
environments was not practical, since the hosting company will limit
your usage of the database and server resources. In fact, we were
kicked out twice by shared hosting companies due to excessive demands
on the servers.
While using a CMS on a
Virtual Private Server (VPS) or a dedicated server may work, we were
only able to serve a limited number of visitors due to the fact that
those server environments typically have web content and the database
sitting on the same hardware. For this reason, we've found that using a
clustered server environment is a far better option, since all the
system resources are distributed among hundreds of servers.
Clustered servers also provide an additional level of protection during denial of service attacks, since the affected hardware can be isolated and removed from the grid.
